Couple of weeks ago, Myself and 2 fishin buddies went for a fishin trip to Pt Victoria. On the 1st day, we tried all afternoon and numerous spots for only and handful of "ting", a bit disappointing ! Anyway that night after a few ales, we decided to hit the sack for an early start in the AM so we get the BIG REDS at dawn, yeah right ! One of my fishin buddies starting snoring and hollering louder than the Indian Pacific pulling up at Keswick, Fair Dinkum. Anyway, after getting a maximum 45 mins sleep due to my so called fishin buddie, we all got up at 6AM and headed to the local garage for some juice. Guess what, the garage didn't open till 8AM, yippee !! |
This day was fast turning into a shambles ! We finally got on the water at 0830 AM and after 15 minutes of searching with the sounder we stumbled across a ledge with the sounder showin some fish, so we gave it a go. After about ten minutes, there was no action. Then all of a sudden, that magnificent sound of my ABU 7000 C3 going ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!, yahoo, 30 seconds later my mate was on as well. At one stage all 3 of us were on at once ! In a matter of 30-40 mins, we had bagged out on some huge SNAPPER, ranging from 8.5 kg to the biggest of 11 kg. WOW, what a rush. By 11 o'clock we were back in guttin our catch. |
What looked like being a shambolic, long, arduous day of tiresome nothings turned out to be the best experience of my life (don't tell the wife but !)
